Leading sire Dubawi recorded a new Group winner on Sunday, 23 August when his daughter Maamora put up a front-running performance to land the G3 Atalanta Stakes, run over a mile at Sandown.
Sent straight to the front under William Buick, Maamora dictated the pace throughout and asked to quicken a furlong from home, ensured she could not be caught and went on to win by half a length.
Maamora, who is trained by Simon and Ed Crisford, has been a consistent performer throughout her career, winning or placing in nine of her 13 starts.
Bred by Godolphin and running in the colours of Sheikh Ahmed al Maktoum, Maamora is one of three winners out of the Stakes-winning Azamour mare Zoowraa.
Dubawi has now sired 12 individual Group winners so far this year, headed by the outstanding multiple G1 winner Ghaiyyath, who added the Juddmonte International to his top-flight haul earlier this week. Dubawi is also sire of fellow 2020 G1 winners Space Blues and Lord North.
