Three-year-old Worthadd became his sire’s fourth Stakes winner on Monday when romping away with the Listed Premio Gardone at San Siro. The Dubawi colt won the 1600m contest by three-and-a-quarter lengths.
Out of Wigman, by Rahy, the Irish-bred Worthadd joins Group winners Poet’s Voice, Sand Vixen and New Zealand-bred Cellarmaster, who was runner-up in the G1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes in New Zealand on Saturday, on the list of black type winners by Dubawi, while his Stakes performers include the Group-placed Dubawi Heights, Astrophysical Jet and Dubawi Phantom.
Dubawi, who last year chased home fellow Darley sire Shamardal in the race to be leading first-season sire in Europe, also sired another five three-year-old winners in Europe over the weekend, including the Conditions race winner Mujaazef, who is out of Khubza (Green Desert) and was bred by Usk Valley Stud, and Duellist, a half-brother to Group One-winning two-year-old Lujain.
