Kinloch Castle, a juvenile colt by first-season stallion Echo of Light, broke his Maiden with ease on Thursday November 3 over seven-furlongs at Southwell. Making his third start after two promising places, he was never headed, eventually winning unchallenged by seven-lengths.
Bred by Whatton Manor Stud, he is out of the Primo Dominie mare Sound of Sleet, a half-sister to two stakes winners in Soft Currency and Fawzi.
Echo Of Light has now sired four winners from his first-crop. His first winner, Sound Advice, became a Stakes-horse in the Stonehenge Stakes at Salisbury, while his two other winners, Counterglow and Electrician, both won their Maiden’s impressively. Echo of Light progressed with age to become a 125-rated G1 miler after only having one start as a juvenile, and his sire line is famed for doing the same thing, both Dubai Millennium and Seeking The Gold both won their only start at two.
