Two years ago Kheleyf led all the freshmen of his year to be the leading first-season sire in Europe. Now with three crops of racing age, his tally of juvenile winners stands at 60.
Among his two-year-olds in 2010 is last weekend's Listed Premio Mantovani winner Moonlight Red, who was bred in Ireland by Islanmore Stud and broke her maiden at Rome in June over seven furlongs.
Moonlight Red joins the Group Two winner and Group One-placed Sayif, Percolator, Playfellow and Captain Ramius on Kheleyf's list of Stakes winners, while Ascot Glory, Reignier, Deposer, Waffle and the Weatherbys Super Sprint winner Jargelle have all been Group-placed.
Another of Kheleyf's 2010 juveniles to have caught the eye is Song Of Time. The Paul Deegan-trained daughter of the Spectrum mare Angie And Liz has made just two starts, finishing third on debut before following up with an impressive nine-length victory at Naas on 23 June. Her exploits have earned her a Timeform rating of 94 and also boasting strong form this season is Defence Council, who was narrowly beaten into second on his first two starts before winning at Ripon on 16 June.
Of Kheleyf's current three-year-old crop, the speedy Reignier, a top-class two-year-old for Kheleyf last season when runner-up to Radiohead in the G2 Norfolk Stakes, has continued to add further black type to his record this year and finished just half a length second in the Listed Scurry Stakes at Sandown on 12 June.
The Italian-trained Milano Lasen, also three, has won twice this season in Rome and was second in the Listed Premio Torricola back in April.
