Three-year-old filly Kapitale, by Dubawi, was the winner of the G3 Kolner Stutenpreis at Cologne on Sunday, September 25. The filly settled nicely throughout most part of the 11-furlongs and battled strongly in the closing stages to win in a tight finish. It was only the fifth career start for the Andreas Wohler-trained filly who has now won twice.
Bred and owned by Gestut Karlshof, the winner is out of the G3-winning mare Kapitol, a daughter of Winged Love who foaled in 2011 another filly by Dubawi. Kapitale is a half-sister to the multiple G1 winner Kamsin, victorious in the 2008 Deutsches Derby.
It was the second Group winner for Dubawi this weekend as well as a Listed-placed two-year-old filly in Italy called Belly to Belly. Dubawi has now 21 Group winners including 2000 Guineas winner Makfi and G1 winners in 2011 Dubawi Heights and Waldpark.
