Dubawi’s progressive daughter Journey notched a valuable Group victory on Saturday 28 May when landing the G3 Pinnacle Stakes at Haydock Park. She had made giants strides as a three-year-old, winning a brace of Listed contests before running a gallant second in the G1 British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes on Champions Day. After a solid third to Beautiful Romance (New Approach) on her seasonal debut in the G2 Middleton Stakes, she was still sightly keen early on in today’s contest, but still only needed to be nudged out to line to record an eased down one-and-a-quarter length triumph.
Owned and bred by George Strawbridge, Journey is the best performing runner out of the G1 Prix Royal Oak heroine Montare (Montjeu).
Dubawi has sired 12 Stakes winners already in 2016 including the Dubai G1 hero Postponed, who is scheduled to line up in the Coronation Cup next weekend, and Group winners Safety Check, So Mi Dar, Dartmouth, Time Test, Raseed and Sheikhzayedroad.
