Jet Away too powerful in G3 Easter Cup
Jet Away became the second imported Australian Stakes winner for the day for his sire Cape Cross when he claimed the G3 Easter Cup over 2000m at Caulfield, March 30.
Like Julienas, who claimed the Listed Manion Cup at Rosehill earlier in the day, Jet Away was bred and started his racing career in the United Kingdom.
Now in the hands of David Hayes, Jet Away has won his first two starts in Australia and the six-year-old entire will now head to Sydney to contest the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Also a winner of the Listed Festival Stakes at Goodwood in May last year, Jet Away was bred by Juddmonte and is the first foal of the Kahyasi mare Kalima, an unraced sister to the outstanding broodmare Hasili, the dam of Dansili, Banks Hill and Intercontinental among her seven Stakes winners.
Jet Away is the 41st Group winner for Cape Cross who is standing the current season at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €35,000, October 1st SLF.
