Night Of Thunder has already cemented himself as a sire of serious note and his first-crop daughter Auyantepui only strengthened this claim when taking the G2 Oaks D’italia in Milan on Sunday, 5 July. Having sired a new Stakes winner in Cherry Tortoni only the day before, the three-year-old filly brought her sire’s record to 7 individual first-crop Group winners with a determined run to win by a neck.
Winner of a Listed contest last month, Auyantepui was bred by Allevamento Le Gi Massimo Parri and is the best performer from the winning Montjeu mare Sopran Enery. She is a three-parts sister to the G1 Derby Italiano hero and sire Cima de Triomphe out of the G2 Italian One Thousand Guineas winner Sopran Londa.
Night Of Thunder is the sire of an incredible 15 Stakes winners worldwide including G2 Premio Dormello victrix Night Colours and G3 Jersey Stakes winner Molatham. It was announced earlier this week that he will also cover a limited southern hemisphere book following the early success of G3 winner A Beautiful Night and the Listed duo River Night and aforementioned Cherry Tortoni.
