Instinction sprints home
Exceed And Excel’s four-year-old son Instinction dashed away in the home straight to land Saturday’s Listed Weekend Hussler Stakes over seven furlongs at Caulfield.
Settled in midfield, Instinction came with a looping run around the field into the straight and then sprinted clear to win in good style and register his third stakes win. “He has had legitimate excuses for his last couple of runs and he deserved to win this today.” winning trainer Mick Price said later.
Instinction had previously won the Zeditave Stakes and the Hilton Hotel Stakes at Listed level as a three-year-old.
Bred by Mr P Katelanis, Instinction is the first foal of the Encosta de Lago mare De Lago Mist and is one of 55 Stakes winners sired by his Group 1 winning sire.
Exceed And Excel's Group 1 winning son Helmet will stand at Kildangan Stud in 2013.
