First-season sire Sepoy looks to have a very promising filly among his first runners, following an eye-catching victory for Dowayla on her racecourse debut at Nottingham on 28 September.
Settled close to the pace under James Doyle, Saeed bin Suroor’s charge took the lead with two furlongs left to run and moving clear of her rivals a furlong out, kept to her task superbly to win the one-mile-and-half-a-furlong contest by a length and a half.
Dowayla is out of the Stakes-placed Dubawi mare Baheeja, herself a daughter of Listed winner and G2 Rockfel Stakes third Hasty Words.
Sepoy is also sire of G3 Prestige Stakes winner Kilmah, plus fellow Black type winner Baileys Showgirl. He is also sire of promising duo Dabyah and Phijee, rated 104P and 104p respectively by Timeform.
