Impressive G2 victory for Imperial Emperor

Son of Dubawi lands the Al Maktoum Classic at Meydan

Imperial Emperor, a son of Dubawi, landed his biggest career triumph on Saturday, 1 March when running away with the G2 Al Maktoum Classic. Despite a very bad draw and having to travel wide throughout the 2000m contest, he strode clear in the straight to record a very easy eight-and-a-half length triumph.

Bred by Godolphin, Imperial Emperor is a son of the G1-winning mare Zhukova, who is out of Classic winner Nightime, making her a half-sister to Champion and exciting young stallion Ghaiyyath.

Imperial Emperor’s victory was Dubawi’s 294th individual Black Type winner, taking him level with Sadler’s Wells as equal third best all time after Galileo and Danehill. Dubawi has already sired six Stakes winners this season including Walk Of Stars, who beat Imperial Emperor when landing the G1 Al Maktoum Challenge in January.
