Dubawi’s impressive son Benbatl landed his second G1 of the season on Sunday, 29 July when running out the very easy winner of the Bayerisches Zuchtrennen at Munich. Going straight to the front from the stalls in the 2000m contest, he never saw another rival, going clear in the straight to record a two-and-three-quarter length victory.
Now the winner of six career starts, he had previously impressed earlier this season when landing the G1 Dubai Turf at Meydan by a wide margin.
He is the first foal of the Selkirk mare Nahrain, who twice scored at the highest level in the Prix de l’Opera and Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes. She also has a New Approach three-year-old named Ta Allak, who was a very promising third on his only start, a yearling filly by Dubawi, and is in foal to the same stallion this season.
Dubawi recently cemented his place amongst the great global stallions when becoming the only sire in British history to have 100 individual Group winners. Amongst this number are 35 that have won at the highest level including 2,000 Guineas hero Night Of Thunder, four-time G1 winner Postponed and the 126-rated Hunter’s Light.
