Stay Alive, a three-year-old filly by Kildangan Stud stallion Iffraaj, landed the mile G3 Premio Regina Elena (Italian 1,000 Guineas) by two-lengths on Sunday May 1. A top juvenile, when winning two of her four starts and a close second in the G3 Premio Dormello, this was her second run this season after an impressive Conditions race win at Milan.
Owned and bred by Grundy Bloodstock, she is a half-sister to G3-winning colt Gimmy and out of the Stakes-placed dam Pursuit Of Life (Pursuit Of Love).
Iffraaj stands this season for €15,000 and was the leading European first-season stallion in 2010 with 38 juvenile winners. Amongst those winners are the unbeaten five-time raced colt Wootton Bassett, who landed the G1 Prix Jean Luc Lagardere, and the G3-winning filly Espirita.
