On 10 September Iffraaj - already Europe's leading first-season sire - joined an elite group of just six stallions to have sired 30 juvenile winners from their first crop when the John Hammond-trained Rudyard won in convincing fashion at Marseille Borely in France.
Iffraaj opened his winners' account on 17 May when Nasharra won on his racecourse debut and has never looked back since.
Only yesterday, his son Wootton Bassett extended his unbeaten run to four and took his earnings past the £350,000 mark when running out the gutsy winner of the Weatherbys Insurance Stakes at Doncaster. He is currently rated 116p by Timeform - the second-highest rating allotted to a two-year-old in Europe.
No fewer than nine of Iffraaj's winners have gone on to further success on the racecourse, including the Stakes-placed King David (who holds some smart entries this autumn) and the highly-regarded unbeaten filly Stay Alive.
Iffraaj now has Invincible Spirit's record of 35 winners in his first season firmly in his sights and with the winners continuing to come thick and fast for this talented young sire, a new record holder could well be crowned before the season is out.
