Hotazhell digs deep to land the G1 Futurity Trophy

Juvenile son of Too Darn Hot wins at Doncaster

Hotazhell, a juvenile son of Too Darn Hot, continued his upward trajectory on Saturday, 26 October when winning the G1 Futurity Trophy. Run over Doncaster’s straight mile, he was in a sustained duel with Delacroix (Dubawi) inside the final furlong, eventually getting the verdict by a nose, with nearly five lengths back to the third.

It has been an excellent debut season for Hotazhell, winning four of his six starts including victories in the G2 Beresford Stakes and G3 Tyros Stakes.

Bred by Blue Diamond Stud Farm, Hotazhell is a son of the Danehill Dancer mare Azenzar, who is a close relative of Champion filly Alexander Goldrun.

Too Darn Hot has now sired a G1-winning juvenile in each of this first two European crops after Fallen Angel Moyglare Stud Stakes victory last season. His second crop is already outstripping his first with 30 juvenile winners that also includes the multiple Group-winning filly Simmering

In Australia, Too Darn Hot was crowned Champion first-season sire last season and has already sired five Stakes-winning three-year-olds this season, including G1 Golden Rose hero Broadsiding
