The winners have been coming thick and fast for first-season sire Iffraaj recently and he recorded his fourth new winner in the last seven days and sixth overall on 8 June, when Bay of Fires took the six-furlong maiden at Redcar.
Settled just off the early pace, the James Hetherton-trained filly was always in a handy position and despite running a little green in the closing stages, kept on well to win by a short head.
Bred by Duncan A McGregor, Bay of Fires is out of the winning mare No Tippling, a half-sister to Stakes-placed filly Maduka and from the family of G1 winners Sholokhov and Soldier of Fortune.
