The consistent Greg Pass, a four-year-old son of Raven’s Pass, landed his first Group contest on Sunday 19 June when taking the G3 Premio del Giubileo at Milan. Run over 1800m, he won by one-and-three-quarter lengths from Voice Of Love, a three-year-old son of Poet’s Voice. Already the winner of two Listed races, Greg Pass takes his record to six victories in ten career starts.
Bred by Valdirone Soc Ag Sas Di Lualdi Lucia & C, Greg Pass is one of three Stakes performers produced by the St Jovite mare Baranja. She has had six winners from six foals to race including the G1-placed juvenile Billy Budd (Shamardal).
The sire of 15 individual Stakes winners, Raven’s Pass has also sired this season the European Free Handicap winner Ibn Malik, who ran an excellent race at Royal Ascot when fourth in the Jersey Stakes and a pair of Group fillies in Rosay and Aquila Solitaire.
