Dubawi sired a new Stakes winner on Sunday, 19 July when this three-year-old daughter Onassis won the Listed Prix de Bagatelle. The progressive filly, who had previously won the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot last month, weaved through the field in the straight to win going away by one-and-three-quarter lengths.
Bred by C O P Hanbury and a 200,000gns yearling, Onassis is a half-sister to G1 Breeders’ Cup winner Line Of Duty and out of the G1 1,000 Guineas second Jacqueline Quest.
Dubawi is the only British stallion to have reached 100 Group winners and has now sired 186 individual Stakes winners. This season he has sired Eclipse hero Ghaiyyath, rated the best horse in the world in 2020, Prince Of Wales’s Stakes hero Lord North and last weekend’s G2-winning juvenile Master Of The Seas, rated the best two-year-old in Europe.
At Newbury earlier in the day Territories sired his sixth individual winner when Royal Scimitar made a successful debut over six furlongs.
Bred by Yeomanstown Stud, Royal Scimitar is out of the Dark Angel mare Prequel, a full-sister to G2-winning juvenile Alhebayeb.
