Four-year-old Gris De Gris has been a remarkably consistent campaigner for his sire Slickly and he notched his fourth Listed win on Saturday in the Prix Altipan over a mile at Saint-Cloud.
Owned and bred by Jean-Claude Seroul, Gris de Gris is out of the Lead On Time mare Deesse Grise. He was fourth to subsequent Champion Stakes winner Literato in a Listed contest at two in 2006 and progressed to take the Prix de la Californie the following February. He has since added the Prix de Pontarme and Grand Prix de la Riviera Cote to his CV.
So far in 2008, Slickly is France’s leading sire by prize-money and by number of wins. He also leads by number of Stakes winners with Gris Tendre having won this year’s Prix de la Californie. His four-year-old son Libertador, who is also owned and bred by M. Seroul, finished runner-up in the Listed Grand Prix du Conseil General des Alpes Maritimes.
Slickly stands at Haras du Logis in Normandy at a fee of €8,000, 1 October Special Live Foal. Please call Julian Ince in France on +33 (0)2 33 36 21 20 or Lisa-Jane Moeran or Benoit Jeffroy in Newmarket on +44 (0)1638 730070 for further details.
