First winner for Space Blues

Power Blue impresses on debut at the Curragh

Power Blue became Space Blues' irst winner on Sunday, March 16, when he made all the running over five furlongs at the Curragh. Jumping straight to the front from the stalls, he quickened clear to record a three-and-three-quarter-length triumph.

Bred by Finanza Locale Consulting and a £44,000 yearling, Power Blue is the first winner out of the Group-placed mare Visions. A daughter of Classic winner Worthadd, Visions is a granddaughter of Dubawi, making Power Blue inbred 2X3 to the UK’s best-ever stallion.

Space Blues, who stands at Kildangan Stud for €16,000, won a trio of Group 1 races in 2021: the Prix Maurice de Gheest, the Prix de la Forêt, and the Breeders’ Cup Mile. Since retiring to stud, he has been very well supported and has 118 foals set to run for the first time in 2025, with a further 126 foals in his second crop.
