Irish-bred filly Queen Supreme won her first G1 on Saturday, 11 January when easily landing the Paddock Stakes at Kenilworth in South Africa. The four-year-old by Exceed And Excel cruised to the front and won with any amount in hand in the 1800m contest.
Bred by Thomas Hassett, Queen Supreme is a daughter of the unraced Gone West mare Call Later, who has produced three Stakes winners including Be Ready, a son of New Approach who won the Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes.
Exceed And Excel enjoyed an excellent 2019 when siring 40 individual Stakes performers. His three top-flight winners were led by Coolmore Stakes Stakes scorer Exceedance, the best three-year-old in Australia, and G1-winning juvenile colt Microphone.
He is standing this coming season at a fee of €40,000 Oct 1, SLF.
