First Classic winner for Ghaiyyath

Ameerat Alzamaan remains unbeaten when winning the Saudi 1,000 Guineas

Ameerat Alzamaan, a first-crop daughter of Ghaiyyath, continued her upward progression with a victory on Saturday, 25 January in the Saudi 1,000 Guineas. Always near the front from her wide draw, she had a long sustained dual with Gharamy in the straight, eventually gaining the better of her rival with the pair well clear.

She has now run three times since 20 December winning all three in impressive fashion.

Bred by Minster Stud, she is a daughter of the Shamardal mare Influent, a granddaughter of the G1-placed Cloud Castle.

Ghaiyyath, standing this season at €20,000, has sired a number of very promising winners from his first crop. His son Stanhope Gardens was a narrow second in the G3 Autumn Stakes, plus he has five unbeaten runners; Mandanaba, Alobayyah, Al Uqda, Rhapsody and Gethin.
