Teofilo had his third individual winner on Sunday, May 29, as Teolane scored a comfortable win at Leopardstown over 1400m.
The Jim Bolger trained filly won the two-year-old maiden race by five-and-a-half lengths and now is being aimed at the Albany Stakes during the Royal Ascot meeting, a route already well known by her trainer with a win in the Stakes in 2008.
Teolane is out of the Erins Isle mare Masnada, winner of nine races in Ireland and six of them at Leopardstown. Teolane was bred and is owned by her trainer, who also bred, owned and trained Teofilo. Teolane now joins Teofilo’s list of winners that includes the impressive colt's Parish Hall and Mezmaar, a winner two days prior at Haydock.
Bred in the purple, Teofilo is by Galileo out of a Danehill mare, the same cross that has produced the impressive classic winners Frankel, Roderic O'Connor and Golden Lilac already in Europe this season.
Standing this season at Kildangan Stud in Ireland for €15,000, Teofilo went unbeaten in a five-race juvenile campaign that included the National Stakes and Dewhurst Stakes.
