First-season sires Farhh and Epaulette were both responsible for winners at Newcastle on Friday, 3 November, with victories for Elegiac and Augenblick.
The Mark Johnston-trained Elegiac (Farhh) made all in the one-mile novice, and once asked for his effort approaching the final furlong marker, easily moved clear and ran on superbly to win by no fewer than six lengths.
Elegiac was bred by Aston House Stud and is out of the G2-placed Singspiel mare Lamentation.
Later on the same card, Epaulette’s son Augenblick made it two wins from two starts with a cosy victory in the seven-furlong novice.
Augenblick was bred in Ireland by Michael O’Mahony and is now the third winner out of Freezing Love (Danzig), a full sister to Black Type winner and G1 placegetter Alyzig.
Farhh stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £10,000, while Epaulette stands at Kildangan Stud at €7,000, both Oct 1 Special Live Foal.
