An excellent weekend

British five-timer for Exceed And Excel

Exceed And Excel enjoyed a very successful weekend, siring no fewer than five British winners on Saturday and ten winners worldwide over the two days.

Two-year-old colt Fendale opened his winning account in tremendous fashion when landing the five-furlong maiden at Beverley by no fewer than five lengths. He is clearly very highly thought of by his trainer Bryan Smart, who has entered him in the Gimcrack.

Also on Saturday, three-year-old War Spirit recorded his third win on the trot with an impressive victory over five furlongs at Haydock.

Exceed And Excel, who has sired no fewer than 24 Stakes winners so far this year, remains the world’s number one sire of two-year-old winners, Stakes winners and Stakes horses. One of his recent juvenile winners, Ustinov, will aim to become another Group winner for his sire this week when lining up in the G2 July Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday.
