At the conclusion of Part 1 of the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale, Dubawi once again found himself with a sales-topper just a week after the Italian sales, courtesy of lot 386, a three-parts sister to Echo Of Light, himself the top lot at Goffs back in 2003.
Consigned by Pat O'Kelly's Kilcarn Stud, the filly out of Spirit Of Tara from the top-class family of Salsabil and Marju, was knocked down to John Ferguson for €950,000 after a protracted bidding war.
Dubawi is also the leading sire by average at Goffs with his five yearlings sold having recorded an average price of €238,000. With the elite stallions Galileo and Dansili each also achieving predictably strong averages, fourth on the list was first-season sire Teofilo, who had eight sell for an average of €114,375.
The highest price among these was set by the joint top lot in the opening session of the sale on Tuesday. The Hawthorn Stud-consigned Teofilo colt is out of Hundred Year Flood, by Giant's Causeway, and was sold to Sir Robert Ogden for €300,000.
Cape Cross and Shamardal were each responsible for six-figure lots, with Alex Cole going to €160,000 for a son of Cape Cross out of Sheer Spirit, a Caerleon half-sister to Derby winner Oath, and Aidan O'Ryan signing for a Shamardal colt, who is the first foal of four-time winner Reeling N' Rocking.
A first-crop son of Echo Of Light out of Tee Cee from the Meadowlands Stud consignment was knocked down for €90,000 and Kildaragh Stud's colt by Iffraaj, who has led the first-season sires' race for much of this season with his talented first batch of two-year-olds, made €85,000.
