Dubawi Heights, a four-year-old filly from the first-crop of Dubawi, landed her first Pattern victory on Saturday April 30 when winning the 50th running of the G3 Wilshire Handicap over a mile on the Hollywood Park turf.
Racing as a juvenile in the UK for Simon Callaghan she ran a series of creditable races including a third in the G2 Lowther Stakes and a couple of seconds in valuable sales races. Transferred to the US when her trainer moved there and remaining in his care, this was her third consecutive victory in ever increasing company.
Bred by Aston Mullins Stud, she is out of the winning Suave Dancer mare Rosie's Posy, herself a half-sister to G1-winning sprinter Tante Rose. Rosie's Posy also has a two-year-old colt by Cape Cross, named Red Coast, which was sold for 190,000Gns as a yearling last year.
Dubawi, who stands this season at Dalham Hall Stud for £55,000, has now sired 15 Group winners including four at the highest level. He also has 10 G1-performers including Dubawi Gold, who ran an excellent race to finish second in the 2,000 Guineas yesterday.
