The G3 Nad Al Sheba Trophy, a trial for the Dubai Gold Cup, was dominated by Dubawi on Thursday, 28 February when he sired the first three home. The facile winner was the Charlie Appleby trained Ipsolini, who strolled home in the straight to win by a gaping ten-and-a-half-lengths from Red Galileo and Bin Battuta.
The improving four-year-old was winning his third race, and first at Group level, in a eight-race career.
Bred by Newsells Park Stud, he is a son of the G2-winning mare Giant’s Play, a daughter of G1-winning juvenile Playful Act, who is a three-parts sister to Nathaniel.
Dubawi, the worlds top stallion, has started 2019 in tremendous style with Ipsolini becoming his fifth Group winner. Both North America and Poetic Charm have won a brace of G2s, while D’bai landed the G2 Al Fahidi Fort Stakes and Muntazah the G3 Firebreak Stakes.
