Dubawi, one of the best stallions in the world and the most successful ever to stand in the UK, achieved the remarkable feat of siring his 100th individual Group winner on Monday, 9 July when three-year-old Godolphin filly Crown Walk landed the Prix Chloe at Chantilly.
Sand Vixen, from his very first crop, started the ball rolling back in 2009 when winning the G2 Flying Childers Stakes and since then Dubawi has never looked back, siring some of the finest racehorses of the modern era.
No fewer than 35 of his runners have been victorious at G1 level so far, including Night Of Thunder, winner of the best 2,000 Guineas for 40 years, and four-time G1 winner Postponed. Both now stand alongside their sire at Dalham Hall Stud.
Dubawi is also responsible for two Dubai World Cup winners in Monterosso and Prince Bishop, outstanding miler Poet’s Voice, who sadly died earlier this year, and Eclipse winner Al Kazeem.
Dubawi sires an exceptional 10% Group winners to runners – a higher percentage than any other stallion at the same stage of their careers.
He is also a world beater in the sales ring – no stallion has matched his yearling average for the past three years.
Sam Bullard, Director of Stallions said, “We are all absolutely delighted that Dubawi has reached this momentous landmark. He was the faster ever to sire 50 Group winners and to have sired 100 at this stage of his career is truly outstanding.
“It is also very fitting that his 100th Group winner is a homebred for Sheikh Mohammed and carried the Godolphin blue silks to victory today.”
