Godolphin’s Brundtland took his record to two-for-two with an impressive victory in the Listed Grand Prix de Clairefontaine in France on 23 August.
The three-year-old Dubawi colt sat third behind the leaders through most of the 12-furlong contest before getting to the front a couple of furlongs from home and going on to win easily by a little over a length. Brundtland was making his first start since a debut maiden win at Newmarket last October as a juvenile.
Bred in Ireland by J. Hanly, Brundtland is the first foal out of G3 winner Future Generation (Hurricane Run).
Dubawi is enjoying another outstanding year, recording his 100th individual Group winner in July – becoming the first British-based stallion to do so. He is the sire of three G1 winners so far this year in G1 Dubai Turf hero Benbatl, G1 Nassau Stakes winner Wild Illusion, and G1 Al Maktoum Challenge Round 3 winner North America.
