Dubawi and his 2,000 Guineas winning son Night Of Thunder sired the first two home in the Listed Pat Eddery Stakes. Run over Ascot’s straight seven furlongs, it was Godolphin’s juvenile colt Al Dabaran who rallied inside the final furlong to just get the better of Sun Power by a neck.
Al Dabaran is now unbeaten in two starts after a debut victory at Newmarket.
Out of the Manduro mare Bright Beacon, Al Dabaran is a half-brother to the Shamardal’s four-time winner Warning Fire. Bright Beacon is a half-sister to Classic winner Masked Marvel and from the family of G1 winners Waldgeist and Waldpark.
Dubawi has now sired a world leading 26 individual Stakes winners in 2019 including three that have scored at the highest level. They are led by Prix Jean Prat winner Too Darn Hot, who heads to Goodwood next week for the Sussex Stakes.
