Dealbata does it again
A winner of the Prix Solitude at Saint-Cloud at three, Dubawi's four-year-old daughter Dealbata crossed the Atlantic for her newest Stakes victory June 16th at Belmont Park.
Making her US debut in the one and one-sixteenth mile Mohegan Sky Stakes on the turf, Dealbata settled patiently three lengths off the pace in fifth. The field was tightly packed in the stretch, but it was Dealbata who came through the middle of the pack to take the win easily.
A €110,000 yearling, Dealbata was bred by Dr Fernand Krief and is out of Save Me The Waltz, by Halling. The mare is a half-sister to G1-placed Flawly, who is the dam of Group winner and Classic-placed Best Name, by King's Best.
Dubawi, a son of the fantastic Dubai Millennium, is off to the best start at stud since 1971. He has sired Group horses at all stops, from five to 14 furlongs. His record boasts eight G1 milers to date, including European Champion Makfi and Queen Elizabeth II winner Poet's Voice. This season, his G1 winners include Monterosso, winner of the famed G1 Dubai World Cup in March.
