Dawn Delivers, a juvenile filly by first-season sire Dawn Approach, broke her maiden at the third time of asking when winning the six-furlong fillies maiden at the Curragh. Making her third career start, she had previously finished second at Leopardstown and the Curragh when taking on the boys, and facing her own sex for the first time, made no mistake to win eased down. She holds a Group entry later in the season in the G2 Debutante Stakes.
Her winning jockey Kevin Manning was glowing in praise for the progeny of Dawn Approach post-race “I have always liked them…they are coming along and are nice stamps of horses with good temperaments”
Dawn Delivers is a half-sister to the Stakes-performer Mu’ajiza and out of the Rahy-mare Siyasa, a full-sister to the Champion and six-time G1-winner Fantastic Light.
Dawn Approach has now sired two winners with a number also showing great promise on their initial runs. Haddaf, who has previously been placed in the Listed National Stakes, broke his maiden by four lengths at Newcastle, whilst Moghamarah, Dawn Hoofer, Angelique and Fast Approach have all been placed on their debuts in big-track maidens.
