First-season sire, Ghaiyyath, recorded another impressive new winner on Sunday, 10 November when his juvenile daughter, Al Uqda, made a perfect start to her career when posting a comfortable win in the Prix Douve at Saint-Cloud, France.
Always travelling easy just behind the leaders, the Henri-Alex Pantall-trained filly responded readily when asked to quicken entering the straight. She hit the front with 400m to run and soon stretched clear of the field to win by an easy two-and-a-half-lengths in the 1500m contest.

Bred by Haras D’haspel, Al Uqda was an Arqana Deauville October Yearling purchase. She is out of the winning mare, Tampa Dream (Champs Elysees), herself a daughter of Tarentaise, who is the dam of G2-winner, Equilateral.
Amongst Ghaiyyath’s other winners are Stanhope Gardens who is also G3-placed, Sopran Norma who posted an incredible ten-length victory at Milan on Wednesday, whilst Gethin was another debutant winner, who recorded an impressive six-length win at Nottingham last month.
Ghiayyath will stand the forthcoming season at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €20,000, Oct 1, SLF.
