Crystal Diamond sparkles at Saint-Cloud
Three-year-old Teofilo filly Crystal Diamond has been a consistent performer for her sire this year, having won or placed in all bar one of her nine starts and on 13 November, she made sure her tenth start counted when landing the Listed Prix Belle de Nuit at Saint-Cloud.
Settled towards the rear of the field during the early stages of the 12.5-furlong contest, the Freddie Head-trained filly eased to the front as they entered the home straight and kept to her task superbly, repelling the challenge of the fast-finishing Hidden Cove to win by half a length.
Bred by E. Puerari, Oceanic Bloodstock Inc and Haras d'Etreham, she is out of the Group winner Diamond Dance, dam of four further winners including G2 victrix Diamond Tango.
Teofilo, sire of six individual G1 winners to date, is also sire this year of G1 performers Tarfasha and Tobann (both of whom have won at Group level), plus a further 27 Black type performers.
He will stand the 2015 season at Kildangan Stud, at a fee of €50,000 October 1st SLF.
