Phenomenal Lass makes it two from two with victory at Rosehill for her young sire Country Reel

Country Reel is represented by his first-crop runners in the southern hemisphere and his first runner, Phenomenal Lass, who won on debut at Randwick on 22 November, backed up this performance with another excellent win at Rosehill on Saturday.

Starting to look well-named, the Paul Murray-trained filly scored by two-and-a-quarter lengths in the 1100m (5.5f) handicap for juveniles.  She will now head for a spell before being brought back for an autumn capaign and a possible tilt at the G1 Golden Slipper.

Phenomenal Lass is a daughter of the 15-year-old Canny Lad mare Phenomenal, who raced for Woodlands Stud and was also a winner at two.  The filly’s owner, Four And One Syndicate,  also bred her, having bought her in utero when purchasing Phenomenal for A$3,500.

Country Reel, a three-parts brother to Anabaa, stands at Haras du Logis for €4,500. For further information, please contact Julian Ince on +33 (0)2 33 36 21 20 or Benoit Jeffroy on +44 (0)1638 730070.
