Represented by his first southern hemisphere crop of two-year-olds this season, Dubawi recorded his first winner on 12 November when Cellarmaster scored by one and a half lengths at Otaki, New Zealand.
Making his second start, off the back of a recent barrier trial win, the Kevin Gray-trained colt raced away with the 800m event to score with ease under jockey Kane Smith.
Out of the three-time winning Sound Reason mare Oenology, Cellarmaster was bred by Judge Clapham who retained the colt to race after withdrawing him from the 2009 New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale.
A half-brother to the G1 VRC Derby-placed Our Bahare, Cellarmaster's dam is a half-sister to the dual G1 winner Second Coming. They are from the family of G1 winners In The Wings and Champion older mare Zomaradah, who in turn is the dam of Dubawi.
Dubawi, the multiple G1 winner who was unbeaten as a two-year-old, was once again the stallion of choice last season, as Oneology produced a full brother to Cellarmaster on 12 November.
Dubawi has been experiencing a stellar season this year in Europe where he is currently the leading first-season sire with 31 individual winners, highlighted by G2 winners Poet's Voice and Sand Vixen.
Dubawi is standing for $16,500 plus GST this season at Darley Kelvinside.
