Calming Influence wins Prix de Tourgeville

King's Best colt lands his second Listed race of the season at Deauville

Calming Influence ensured his first racecourse venture outside England was a winning one when victorious in the Listed Prix de Tourgeville over a mile at Deauville on Tuesday.

The King's Best colt has now raced four times for three wins, having won the Listed King Charles II Stakes on his seasonal debut at Newmarket in May. Bred by Helen Lyons, he races in the colours of Godolphin and is from the family of young Darley stallion  Refuse To Bend and his half-brother, the Melbourne Cup winner Media Puzzle. Calming Influence’s dam Idillic Clam is a grand-daughter of the great broodmare Grenzen.

The progressive three-year-old looks likely to take a step up in class for his next outing with entries for the G2 Hungerford Stakes on 16 August and the G2 Celebration Mile at Goodwood a week later.
