First-season sire Byron posted his second winner on 24 May when Daas Rite won over six furlongs at Thirsk.
Settled off the pace, the Kevin Ryan-trained gelding was switched to the outside with two furlongs left to run and ran on well to draw clear of his rivals, crossing the line two lengths in front.
Bred by Mark and Pippa Hackett, Daas Rite is out of the dual winner Sweet Surrender (Pennekamp), who has now produced three winners. The dam is a half-sister to the G2 winner and multiple G1-placed Highdown, plus Cape Cross's G2-placed son Elshadi.
Byron, a G2-winning juvenile who went on to win the Lennox Stakes and place in the G1 French Guineas at three, has an outstanding pedigree, being out of a G1-winning champion and from the family of A P Indy.
