Both Buratino and The Last Lion sired their first winners on Wednesday, 24 June, with both having successful runners at Hamilton Park.
Tinochio (Buratino) had shown promise when finishing fourth on his debut a fortnight ago and the Kevin Ryan-trained colt made good use of that experience today. Always handy under Kevin Stott, Tinochio took the lead with a furlong left to run and kept on superbly to win by three lengths.
Bred by John Malone, Tinochio is out of Endless Peace, a half sister to Group winner and Norfolk Stakes second Hoh Mike, plus a further four Black Type performers.
Later on the same card, The Last Lion’s son Kraken Power posted an equally impressive debut win, taking the six-furlong maiden by three and a half lengths. Once again racing close to the pace, Iain Jardine’s charge cruised to the front when asked for his effort and soon moved clear to win easily.
Kraken Power was bred by Cloneymore Farms and James Murtagh and is out of Throne, a half sister to Champion sprinter Kyllachy.
