First-season sire Kheleyf has made a storming start with his debutants and now has four individual winners to his name courtesy of Red Cell's victory at Catterick on Tuesday evening.
Bred by Holborn Trust Co, the colt is out of Montana Lady (Be My Guest) and is a half-brother to another juvenile winner in Nebraska Lady (Lujain). Red Cell had run second on his only previous racecourse appearance and had clearly benefited from that experience as he forged clear of his rivals to score an emphatic win.
His victory caps a productive few days for Kheleyf after two of his previous winners went on to strengthen their records by scoring again over the weekend. Dispol Kylie won at Thirsk on Saturday while Peroclator, who had beocme his first ever winner at Lingfield in March, crossed the Channel to pick up €17,000 for winning at Longchamp.
