Start Of Day lands Listed race at Vichy

Start Of Day, a three-year-old daughter of Night Of Thunder, impressed on her first Stakes start on Thursday, 18 July when winning the Listed Prix Madame Jean Couturié. Run over 2000m at Vichy in France, she quickened from the rear in the straight to win going away by one-and-three-quarter lengths.

Bred by Overbury Stallions and a 525,000gns yearling at Tattersalls Book 1, Start Of Day is a daughter of the unraced Pulpit mare Pacifica Highway, a granddaughter of Champion mare Kostroma. Pacifica Highway also has a yearling colt by Palace Pier.

Night Of Thunder has been enjoying an excellent season with his Classic crop, siring a Europe-leading 52 winners. His six Stakes winners are headed by the exciting Economics who has G1 targets over the next few months. It was also his third three-year-old winner on the day after his sons Ombudsman and Thunder Run won their second successive starts in Novices at Leicester and Hamilton.
