Another brilliant front-running display in the G2 The Shorts at Randwick has earned Ball Of Muscle and his sire Dubawi another Stakes victory.
For the eight-year-old Ball Of Muscle, the win comes in what should be the twilight of his career, but he has rarely raced better, having now won at each of the two starts of his current preparation.
For Dubawi it comes at the peak of his powers as he enjoys another outstanding year in the northern hemisphere where he landed his 100th individual Group winner in July, becoming the first British-based stallion to do so.
His three G1 winners so far in 2018 are Benbatl, Wild Illusion, North America.
Ball Of Muscle, a member of Dubawi’s final southern hemisphere crop, has won 11 races, five of them at Stakes level.
The gelding is also a member of an impressive female family, his dam Parfore having produced nine foals, five of them Stakes winners including the G1 winner Terravista, Tiger Tees, Super Easy and Our Lukas.
