Cape Cross gelding Mac Love lands the Listed Hyde Stakes

Cape Cross gelding Mac Love took his career winning tally to seven on Saturday when landing the Listed Hyde Stakes on Kempton Park's Polytrack surface. Now seven and trained by Stef Liddiard, Mac Love has enjoyed an illustrious career, which includes a victory in the G3 Supreme Stakes at Goodwood as a three-year-old and finishing runner-up to Rakti in the G1 Lockinge Stakes at four.

Bred by Kingwood Bloodstock, he is out of the Stakes-placed mare My Lass and from the family of Ile De Nisky. My Lass has also produced a full-brother to Mac Love in 2008.

It has been another successful season for Cape Cross who has sired 108 European winners, a figure no other stallion can better. This includes the G1 fillies, Sabana Perdida and Treat Gently, the G2 scorers Russian Cross and Crystal Capella and the G2-winning juvenile and Derby fancy, Sea The Stars.
