Aboulie, a juvenile filly by Exceed And Excel, graduated to become a Stakes winner on Tuesday 15 September when landing the Listed Prix Saraca.
Run over 1300m at Maisons-Laffitte, she came into the race on the back of a maiden victory at La Teste and has now won two of her three career starts.
Bred by Haras d'Etreham, Pontchartrain Stud and Riviera Equine SARL, Aboulie is the first Stakes winner produced by the winning Indian Ridge mare Anja. Bred in the purple, Anja is a daughter of G3 winner Allez Les Trois (dam of French Derby winner Anabaa Blue) and closely related to Urban Sea, the Arc winner famous for producing Sea The Stars (Cape Cross) and Galileo.
Exceed And Excel now has two Stakes winners bred out of Indian Ridge mares after G1-winning miler Excelebration. Aboulie is one of 20 European juvenile winners this season including impressive G2 Coventry Stakes hero Buratino, Rouleau, winner of the G3 Sirenia Stakes earlier this month and Marenko, three times Group-placed including a gallant second in the G2 May Hill Stakes last week.
