Iffraaj, Europe’s most successful first-season sire ever, further increased his number of winners on 16 December, when If You Whisper justified odds-on favouritism to land the seven-furlong maiden at Southwell.
Settled off the early pace, If You Whisper took the lead approaching the final furlong and rallied well when challenged close to home to win by a length.
Bred by Mrs Vanessa Hutch, If You Whisper is out of the Stake-placed Be My Guest mare Little Whisper, herself a half-sister to Cape Cross's dual G3 winner Confuchias.
Iffraaj, who has sired more winners in first season that any European sire ever, is also sire of unbeaten G1 winner Wootton Bassett, plus G3 winner Espirita and a further five Black type performers. He stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €15,000 October 1st terms.
