G2 victory for son of Teofilo

Alessio lands the Oleander Rennen in Germany

Alessio, a five-year-old son of Teofilo, won the G2 Oleander Rennen on Sunday, 19 May in Hoppegarten, Germany. Trained by Peter Schiergen, the progressive colt has now won Group races in two of his last three starts after a win in the G3 Länd Trophy in October last season.

Owned and bred by Gestüt Ittlingen, Alessio is a son of the multiple winning mare Alandia, who is a half-sister to Champion stayer Altano.

Teofilo has now sired five Stakes winners in 2024 including impressive Meydan G2 scorer Naval Power and the European-bred Post Impressionist, who landed a G3 at Rosehill in Australia in March.
