Grail Seeker returned to racing with a brilliant victory in the G1 Tarzino Trophy over 1,400m at Hastings in New Zealand on Saturday, 7 September.
The four-year-old daughter of Iffraaj burst clear to win running away by 1.3 lengths from Faraglioni, with Scared Satono a head away in third place in a fast 1 minute 21.46 seconds for 1,400m.
Winner of the G2 Wellington Guineas at Trentham in March, Grail Seeker took her record to three wins and four placings from 10 starts for prize money earnings of NZ$413,465 under co-trainers Lance O’Sullivan and Andrew Scott at Matamata.
Out of the Australian mare Starwish, Grail Seeker was bred and offered by Jamieson Park at the 2022 Karaka Yearling Sale. The filly was bought by Kakapo Lodge for NZ$130,000.
Grail Seeker continued a fantastic recent run for Iffraaj, who also sired Audience to win a G2 at Goodwood on 30 July and My Prospero at G3 level at Windsor on 24 August.
