Night Of Thunder is enjoying another successful season, which continued on Sunday, 13 October when his three-year-old son, Not Afraid, made his breakthrough at Stakes level to land the Listed Premio Omenoni in Milan, Italy on Sunday, 13 October.
Stepping up into Stakes company for the first time, the gelding went on to record a comfortable length and a quarter victory as he was dropped back in trip to 1000m for the race. This was Not Afraid’s third win for his new connections.
Bred in Great Britain by Hascombe & Valiant Stud Ltd, Not Afraid is out of the winning Iffraaj mare, Zeb Un Nisa. The third dam, Glatisant, a G3 winner herself, is responsible for G1 victors, Footstepsinthesand (2,000 Guineas) and Pedro The Great (Phoenix Stakes).
Night Of Thunder has sired two top flight winners amongst his 16 individual Stakes winners this year. His exciting juvenile daughter, Desert Flower, looked a bright prospect for next year's 1,000 Guineas as she produced a sparkling performance to win the G1 Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket on Friday, whilst his brilliant three-year-old son, Economics aims for his second G1 title of the year next Saturday. He likely to line up in the G1 Champions Stakes at Ascot, following a thrilling victory in the Irish version last month.
