Vale Of York’s run of success continues

Olivia Fallow becomes the fourth winner for her first-season sire

Vale Of York, whose unbeaten daughter Fontanelice recorded her second consecutive Stakes win at the weekend, wasted little time in adding to his tally of winners, with victory for Olivia Fallow at Ripon on 18 June.

Settled in fourth position under Paul Mulrennan, Olivia Fallow travelled well throughout and quickening impressively inside the final furlong, kept to her task well to win by a length.

Bred by Mark Salmon, she is the first foal out of the Forestry mare Spinning Maid, herself a daughter of Stakes winner Spun Silk and from the family of G1 winner Minardi and Tale Of The Cat.

Vale Of York is also sire of fellow winner Haxby, who ran a very creditable fifth in yesterday’s Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot, plus Sunny York who looked very promising on her debut victory at Lingfield last Saturday.
